A unique mahogany Pembroke table, with butterfly drop leaves and carved apron, was the prototype for this lovely “Breakfast Table”.  Made in the mid-18th Century, perhaps by Charleston’s master cabinetmaker, Thomas Elfe, it may be seen in the Heyward-Washington House drawing room.
